Ashford Parish Council met by Zoom on Thursday 18th March attended by full Council, North Devon District Councillor, Mrs Andrea Davis and ten members of he public. Apologies received from Devon County Councillor, Mrs Caroline Chugg. To maintain accurate minute taking, the meeting was recorded and will be deleted on approval.
The defibrillator has received the normal monthly check and the report sent to South West Ambulance Service.
Parishioner, Mr Derek Cowe, has kindly agreed to take over The Neighbourhood Watch due to the recent death of Mr Ian Worby who had voluntarily run this scheme for many years.
The family of the late Mr Ian Worby wish to donate a seat to the village in his memory which will be placed in a central area. The Parish Council wish to express their gratitude to the Worby family for their generous gift. A commemoration seat presented to the village in 1937, the coronation of George V!, has been temporarily removed for refurbishing.
Councillors together with a number of residents have given their free time to clear debris and brambles to enhance the view in Meadowside seating area
Planning application for an outbuilding to be converted into a dwelling at Ashford Inn Cottages, Braunton Road, Ashford was discussed and approved. One letter of objection was received.
The AGM and the next monthly meeting is arranged for Thursday 15th April commencing at 7.30 pm to be held by Zoom. Due to Covid the annual Parish meeting was not held during 2020 but will now take place on Thursday 29th April commencing at 7.30 again by Zoom. All residents are welcome to take part in this meeting to ask questions and to bring up any concerns or ideas they may have.
